A little squib of a post here. I’m fascinated by Mondrian’s influence on other artists, from Theo van Doesburg to Ilya Bolotowsky, to Burgoyne Diller. Mondrian was a hard act to follow without appearing too derivative.
Burgoyne Diller, Second Theme #37, 1963
Theo van Doesburg, Simultaneous Composition XXIV, 1929. Yale University Art Gallery
Ilya Bolotowsky, Blue Tondo, circa 1980
